Smile...PLEASE!!!

Yesterday, Mark and I brought Ethan into the Wal-Mart portrait studio to have his 1 year portraits done. We had really good luck with the studio for Ethan's 3 month pictures, so, despite some new photographers, we decided to try them again first. Plus, they were offering 40% off picture packages yesterday so we wanted to take advantage of that as well. And if for some reason we didn't like the photos, we knew we still had time to get them taken somewhere else, if need be.

Well, we didn't even get a chance to see if we liked the photos or not. Ethan woke up with a fever which got better, then worse, then better throughout the course of the day. Despite the fever (which we suspect is from popping teeth like crazy-we're at 7 now, with more coming), we still decided to take him in for his pics. He just wasn't having it, though. He wouldn't smile, laugh, or even smirk. In fact, he cried a few times and tried crawling off the platform. Now, in his defense, the photographer was not that great at trying to make him smile. The guy tried, but gave up way too easily and didn't have that many strategies. I think they took about 4 pictures before we finally gave up and rescheduled. They did agree to give us an extension on the 40% off deal since we tried to take the photos that day. We are now scheduled for tomorrow at 10am.

Please pray that Ethan feels better and smiles beautifully. We all know he can, but capturing it on film can be tricky...trust me!
