Mark, Ethan, and I just got home from a picnic at my great-grandparents. A good time was had by all, except for a few minor things. Ethan was so excited about all the new surroundings (people, place, etc.) that he didn't want to take a nap. We finally had to leave at around 3:15 because he was dozing and then crashed!I felt kinda bad because there was another little girl there (about 2 years old), but she was just getting over a bout of chicken pox. I was told she wasn't contagious, but just couldn't bring myself to have the two of them playing together. After all, Ethan hasn't had his Varicella (chicken pox) vaccination yet. I couldn't handle him getting the pox on top of his poo problems (which have gotten better so far...knock on wood).
My favorite part of the day had to be when the neighbor's dog (a pug) came running up the yard, looking at everyone, yippy-barking away. Emily was a little nervous, so Mark ran after the dog to try to scare it back to its' house. He'd go for a little bit, but then come right back. It was almost as if he thought it was a game. Finally, I'd had enough. I'm not a very big dog fan (though I love pugs-it's what I want to get if we ever decide to get a puppy here) and I knew that Emily was bothered by him and I didn't really want him around Ethan 'cause I didn't know how friendly/unfriendly he was. I ran after him, chasing him down the hill. We paused, he barked, and we resumed. Someone at his house must've finally realized he was missing and annoying us because after I was done chasing him, he disappeared. I guess man (or rather, woman) conquered beast...
