Curious Ethan

So, as I've said in previous posts, Mark and I have been babyproofing some of our house in the hopes that it will keep Ethan (somewhat) safer. This has included: putting outlet covers on any unused outlets, strapping the entertainment center to the wall (Mom did it and I watched), and putting door knob covers on the bathroom and basement doors.

Well, we didn't take into consideration all the things that Ethan can still get into (or maybe we did, but didn't know how to fix them). This morning, Ethan and I were waiting for my 10am piano lesson (she ended up not coming again because she didn't know if we had them or not...every other week-what's so hard about that??? We rescheduled for tomorrow at 9am-we'll see if she comes). Anyways, I decided to grab something in the kitchen since he was sitting so nicely by the piano, playing with the lid off of his wipes container. I was in the kitchen for no more than a minute or two. When I went back in the living room, Ethan was sitting on the floor with the plug from my clarinet lamp in his mouth, covered in drool. I could feel a new gray hair sprouting as I yelled, "NO NO!" I must have startled him because then he began to cry. I felt bad, but what if he would have stuck that spit covered plug back into the outlet-zzzzzzzttt! It could've been bad! I love how curious Ethan is, but sometimes I wish he wouldn't be quite so inquisitive...
