So, we have 1 more performance of "The King & I" under our belt and I must say, the show is going well! However, why is it that the 2nd show (usually) doesn't go as well-people get tired, complacent, etc.? I know it was that way with "Cinderella" and with "Guys and Dolls," too. And it always seems to be the night that they tape...what's up with that? I will say, though, that while tonight was a little low-energy (due in large part to the children-they are exhausted), it was nice that 2 certain children were not there tonight. Apparently it was one's birthday last night and the other's birthday next week, so they were having a party rather than do the show. Honestly, even though it irked me (why be in a show you're not gonna be at, especially when all they do when they are onstage is ask for others to hold them, for a drink, for a potty break, whatever they can), I was relieved. See, one of them wandered onstage last night after their potty break. Yep, walked right down the ramp, up the stairs, and under the bridge while Lonnie (our King) sang "Puzzlement" with an Aquafina water bottle in her hand. Sounds about right...it truly was a puzzlement!!!
