So today, Mom and I went to Albertville. We had planned on making a trip to St. Cloud, but when I called Fishing Pond to see if they had the school stuff I needed, they were out, so we decided to wait with that trip and go on another one.
As a parent, you buy and buy and buy for your child, whether it's stuff they need, think they need, or just stuff they want. I spoil Ethan often with toys, clothes, food, etc., but today, while I did buy him one thing (a birthday boy T-shirt to wear on his special day), I bought myself a few clothing items, which I hadn't done since...probably shortly after he was born.
First, I decided that while I am trying to lose weight, I should probably invest in one...top undergarment that fits right now. So, we went to two separate places-Lane Bryant and Bali/Playtex. Last month, I had gone in to Victoria's Secret (my usual skivvies store) to have them re-measure me. Victoria's had me up about 1 size both ways. Today, Lane Bryant had me down 2 sizes one way, and up 4 sizes the other. WTF??? I knew it wasn't right, so while I did try a few things there, we headed to Bali/Playtex next. They were the most accurate and had me up 1 size one way, and even keel the other. That sounded right and when I tried things on, felt right, so I bought one and moved on to our next stop.
Next we went to Dress Barn. I found MANY cute dresses, but settled on two (a brown & cream one for Kindergarten Orientation and a black, gray, and pale yellow one for the first day of school), bought them (50% off!!!) and headed out of town! It felt good to buy something just for me...now it's trying to justify it to Mark...(but honey, they were 50% off)!
Merry Christmas 2025!
