Ick!

If this doesn't give you/me reason to stop drinking pop, I don't know what will:

The Food and Drug Administration said it is investigating an Ormond Beach, Florida couple's claim that they found what may be a mouse inside a can of Diet Pepsi.

Fred and Amy Denegri say the can was one of the last ones opened out of a flat of Diet Pepsi the couple had purchased on July 18th.

The FDA said it has submitted the can and its contents for laboratory analysis.

The FDA's investigation process usually involves follow up with the manufacturer to determine if there are any manufacturing practices that could contribute to foreign objects in products.

Pepsi said it is "virtually impossible" for a foreign object to enter a can in a production environment.

"These types of claims have occasionally been made over the years. There has never been a single instance where lab testing has traced the claim to a problem during production," Pepsi bottling department spokesman Jeff Dahncke said.

Dahncke said Pepsi is taking the claim seriously and is in contact with the investigating authorities.
