Mark had asked me to pick up milk today when I was done at school. After finally finishing my classroom at 4pm (thanks Jenna!), I drove to Wal-Mart to pick up milk and a few other things (formula-we bought the wrong kind last time so Ethan broke out in hives, greeting cards for Mark's birthday, our anniversary, Father's Day, etc). I walked out to the car with my 2 bags when I realized...crap...I forgot the milk. Not about to go in
AGAIN, I decided I would pick some up at the local gas station in Maple Lake. I went in, grabbed a half-gallon of skim and went to pick Ethan up. When I got there, I told my parents why I was running a little behind. "Did you check the date on that milk? 'Cause sometimes they forget to do that," Mom told me. Given that she used to work at another local gas station many years ago, I knew she was right. I got home, brought Ethan in, and started bringing the milk and groceries in. I checked the date...no, that can't be right...surely that's a
6! I turned on the light...nope, that's right. The milk was dated
5/28! ICK!!! I quickly called the gas station who said to bring the milk back in for an exchange. Ethan and I got back in the car and drove there and went inside to exchange our sour milk. Well, they must be REALLY bad at checking the date because all their skim milk was expired (6/2)! I grabbed a 1% with an expiration date of 6/21 and got out of there quickly. I guess next time I'll just run back in to Wal-Mart!!!
