Happy Birthday Girls!

So as I said yesterday, date night was awesome! It was just nice spending time with Mark as a couple, not as parents of Ethan. We were able to watch whatever we wanted, cuddle on the couch, and talk about stuff besides Ethan (which is okay to do from time to time). I did pretty well until this morning at 6 when I got up because that is usually my wake-up call from him. I did eventually fall back asleep for a few hours, but it wasn't easy. After Mark and I got up and ready for the day, we went and picked up donuts and brought them down to Mom and Dad's to say thanks. Then we picked up Ethan and got ready for our exciting day today.

We wrapped presents, made pasta salad, packed about everything Ethan owns and headed out to Tim and Tammy's house to celebrate Amanda and Emily's birthdays. The party was nice. Being that this year Mark and I will be throwing a birthday party in August (likely August 22-mark your calendars), I was trying to make a mental note of what I need to do/get/be ready for.

First we ate lunch. It was good (as always). Then we talked, hung out, and played beanbags for what seemed like forever (only because I am TERRIBLE at beanbags). Then we opened presents and had cake and ice cream. It was hot outside, which was the only drawback (that and the woodticks-they live by a wooded area), but at least it didn't rain! After a few hours, we came home, had dinner, and tried to clean up a little before watching a movie. Overall, a very good day! And tomorrow should be just as busy with Father's Day-breakfast with Dad, cooking dinner for Mark, and quality family time...aka-lots of fun!!!

Happy Birthday Amanda and Emily! We hope you had a great day! P.S.-Don't grow up too fast! (Emily and Amanda w/Mark and Ethan-August 15, 2008)
