SURPRISE!!!

What a day! Lots of excitement took place today. First, Lindsey called Mark this morning to tell us that she and Pablo got engaged!!! They've been dating for quite some time, but I was still very surprised (Pablo still has a semester of law school in Iowa, while Lindsey lives in North Dakota). That being said, I was so excited for both of them! We love Lindsey-I mean, we've been friends since 7th grade (13 years), her and Mark have been friends for around 8 or 9 years and she's the reason Mark and I got together. And Pablo is so awesome, too! He's like a giant teddy bear and is so good for Lindsey! They are getting married March 19th in Las Vegas, so Mark and I have two destination weddings coming up (we would love to go to both, but think we'll only be able to afford Hawaii. Besides, March 19th falls right before my 2 week Spring Break, and is right around spring conferences, so I don't think I'll be able to ask for it off).

Then, a little while later, Mom and I had plans to plant the garden, so she called to see what time I would be available. She also told me that Adam had been trying to get ahold of me since last night, but couldn't, so he called her instead. They talked about the weather, his classes, and life in general. I made a mental note to call him sometime this weekend and Mom said her (and Dad) would be up shortly. No sooner had I got off the phone then was there a knock at the door. Hmmm....who could that be? I went to open the door and it was....ADAM! Yep, Adam was here! I seriously thought I was going to have a heart attack. REALLY? He said he was stopping by on his way back from his friend Tom's wedding. I was so surprised! He asked if he could stay for a few days, to which we replied, "Of course!" Mom and Dad came over a few minutes later and were also very shocked to see Adam. Then Mom, Adam, and I went out to plant the garden while Dad, Mark, and Ethan hung out. It turned out really well. I just hope we get a lot of crops this year (last year was kind of a bust. Partially because it was so dry and partially because I wouldn't go out there because I was as big as a house).

After we finished the garden (and showered), Adam
and I decided to go to Applebee's for our Sangria fix. After all, no visit would be complete without a Sangria (or two or three)! We drove to Buffalo while Mark and Ethan stayed home. Applebee's was great (as always). Then we ran to Wal-Mart and Target for some weekend necessities before making the trek home. Overall, it was a fantastic day, full of wonderful surprises! So, thanks to Adam for nearly giving me a coronary. And congratulations Lindsey and Pablo! We love all of you so much!
