I had such a wonderful day today. DJ was gone (shadowing his new school), the weather was gorgeous, and our principal had invited us all out for drinks after work. I went and it was so much fun-she even bought. Things were great, until....I was driving home and my car died. Yep, and not anywhere I could pull over-it died on Hwy 55 and 3rd Ave (by Mc Donalds) in the left lane. I could not get it started for the life of me. I tried everything-starting it in Park, starting it in Neutral, taking the key out (which was stuck), but nothing worked. And let me tell you, it's pretty fun to be broken down on a major road during afternoon rush hour. People were honking, swerving, shaking their fists at me and I even had my hazards on. Go figure...
I had called Mom and Dad right after I broke down, so Dad (and a tow truck) were on their way. When out of the blue pulls up...CB (the 2nd grade teacher from yesterday's entry). She asked me to pop the hood, asked if it was the battery, said her car used to do the same thing and then shifted my gear shifter up and down a few times, put it in park, and started it right up. Unbelieveable! So, while she totally ticked me off yesterday for flying off the handle, she really did save me today! Thanks CB! I really appreciate your kindness!
P.S.-While I was writing this, Ethan just threw up EVERYWHERE! Ewwww....gotta go clean up chicken and apple upchuck.
Merry Christmas 2025!
