Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there. This was my first "official" Mother's Day (last year being pregnant doesn't count) and let me tell you, I had a fantastic day. Ethan and I woke up at around 7 or so, hung out, did laundry, watched TV, and waited for Mark to get up. He had promised me breakfast, so I patiently waited for him to deliver. And, surprisingly, he did! He's normally not much of a cook, but this morning he made me a fried egg white (I don't really like the yolks), some pancakes, breakfast sausage, toast, and coffee. It was nice having someone take care of me for a change. And Mark did such a great job that I told him he needs to start making dinner more often (we'll see if that actually happens). After breakfast, we did some more laundry and cleaned Ethan's room. After cleaning, Mark gave me my gift-a mother and child necklace. Before I opened it, I was a little nervous because Mark has had a hit and miss track record when it comes to buying me gifts, particularly jewelry, but he did well. I think it's perfect.

This afternoon we went down to my parents house. We had a delicious lunch of pork chops, pasta salad, and a veggie tray. A little while later, Travis and Jenna came down. It was so good to see them...maybe when school gets out, we'll have more time to get together. Anyways, we all had some dessert (decadent chocolate cake) and played a game (Outburst Remix, which I totally rock at). Then we came home, finished laundry, watched "Desperate Housewives," and put Ethan to bed. I'm also thinking about taking a bath as a culmination to this terrific day. Hope all of you had a very happy day!
