Mark and I went to Spring Fever tonight. Spring Fever is one of only two fundraisers held at St. Francis Xavier (where I teach). It is an adult evening consisting of food, beverages, silent & live auctions, dancing, and general camaraderie and drunkenness.
If we are being honest, I was a little nervous about going because Mark's mom was going to be watching Ethan. Even though I'm still not entirely comfortable with it (yes, she raised three boys, but only one turned out halfway normal), I have been trying to be better about letting her watch him very occasionally. I had people on the alert to "keep an eye on things," which eased my nervousness a little. We gave Mary our instructions (3 pages worth) and went to Buffalo.
The night started out the same as in previous years-we checked in, had our picture taken, and walked in to the fun. This year's theme was Monopoly Mania, so the entire school was decked out in property signs and game pieces. It was super cute! We went and bought a Chance card and Community Chest card. Wow! 1 free drink and 1 send a friend to jail free card. The night was looking to be a winner...
Oh....bedtime! More on Spring Fever tomorrow....including how we almost spent $1000!
