Happy April Fools Day! I both love and loathe this day. The kids seem to have a blast, but sometimes their jokes get a little redundant and dare I say...annoying (Mrs. Pavlenko, you have a red dot on your nose-April Fools! Mrs. Pavlenko, your hair is sticking up-April Fools! You get the idea). However, I do have one little guy in my class who really gets into this day with his family. This morning I came to school to find a message on my voicemail telling me that I was to order JB a hot lunch today, despite what he told me. Mom had left a rotten apple in his lunch with a note saying "Ha ha...guess you'll have to eat hot lunch! Happy April Fools!" JB thought it was pretty funny, after first being terrified that he hadn't ordered a hot lunch (the lunch ladies can be a little scary). JB also told me what his plans were for later in the day-saran wrapping the toilet seat so that the pee goes EVERYWHERE!
To give him (and the other kids) some ammo against this ridiculous day, I gave them an April Fools joke to play on their parents/family. I told them to take a coin, darken the edge with pencil and then bet that their parent/sibling can't roll the coin down from their forehead to their chin without lifting it (thank you, "Friends"). I hope I don't get any angry phone calls/e-mails. After all, it's just a joke!
