Today is Neal's birthday. For those of you who didn't know Neal, he was one of my very best friends all through middle, high school, and college. We met in 7th grade band (Ms. Svec) and really became friends in 8th grade. In high school, we planned our schedules so we could have many of our classes together. We were like two peas in a pod. We did everything together-went to movies, hung out constantly, and went to prom together both years. We hung out so much, people started thinking we were a couple (FYI-Neal is gay...came out during our sophomore year of college-well, MY sophomore year of college. Neal dropped out). We lived together for about 2 and 1/2 years as friends, but started drifting apart when he started dating Cliff and I got engaged to Mark. I don't know why... so then he turned into an incredible tool who decided to stop talking to me, never giving me a reason as to why. We were supposed to meet in Maple Grove about a year before the wedding (so about 4 years ago now) to look at wedding dresses. He never showed up and never called. I called, e-mailed, wrote, even went to his new apartment and talked to his new replacement Jessica (Katie was her name) about it all. Nothing happened. So I finally gave up...I don't know where Neal is or why he did what he did, but I guess I'll say-Happy Birthday Neal...wherever you are.
