Pillows

Since the boys are so close in age, and still so young, most of the time, they do not get along. Actually, let me rephrase that, ETHAN does not get along with COLLIN. Collin tries so hard-he'll play with Ethan's toys, sit by Ethan, grab his shirt sleeve and tug on it, but all the while, Ethan is shrieking out of annoyance, pushing him over onto the floor, telling him "No way!"

For whatever reason, tonight was different. While eating dinner with Mark after long days at work, we heard little giggles-both lower and higher pitched. The higher pitched ones were a little indecipherable and almost sounded like they could have been cries for help. Knowing that the boys don't usually get along, I ran into the living room. What I witnessed was pure bliss-Ethan was throwing pillows at the floor. Collin, standing against the side of the couch, was giggling his little head off. Part of me wanted to tell Ethan to stop throwing the pillows-he knows the rules (pillows stay ON the couch). Another part wanted to take pictures/video of the moment. Still another part wanted to shed tears for how fast my little guys are growing up and how they are changing every day. So, what did I decide to do? Mark and I just smiled and watched-watched our boys interact, laugh, and share their love of pillow throwing...and each other.
