So we are still waiting on our computer part...it's supposed to arrive today or tomorrow so hopefully by the end of the week we should be up and running again at home. In the meantime, though, please pray that nothing else breaks in our lives. Since the beginning of September, we've had to pay for repairs on: my car (the water pump), our garage door (needed light fixture repaired, coils oiled, settings changed), our computer (motherboard-hopefully), and now Mark's car, which decided not to start on Saturday. First of all, he had to work late on Friday night, so on his way home in the dark, he hit a skunk. However, he didn't notice this until after he parked his car in the garage that night, so he left the door open and hoped for a breeze to come and make his car miraculously smell like flowers. Well, no such luck. Saturday morning came and it was STINKY in the garage. We had to leave for Marathon at St. Francis, so we closed the door (which obviously made it worse when we came home). When we got home at around noon or so and the stench was still pretty terrible, I asked Mark to move his car outside the garage and maybe even take it for a car wash. Well, he never made it there. He went out to his car and rrrr..rr...r.... no start. Tried it again 2-3 more times to no avail. I called my mom to see if we could borrow my grandparent's battery charger (cause a battery would be the cheapest, easiest fix). My parents picked it up, brought it over to our place, hooked it up, and we waited. After a little bit, we tried it again. Rrr...r.r. Nope...not gonna start. So, then I called our local mechanic, who said he would look at it today (Monday) and our local tow guy who came over yesterday (Sunday) to tow it since we couldn't get it started at all. Turns out it was the starter, which wasn't super expensive (thank goodness), but not super cheap, either. How are we supposed to save for baby and for a trip to visit Trav and Jenn when all we keep doing is pouring our money into stuff that keeps breaking? Please keep your fingers crossed that this is it...no more repairs. And if we could win the lottery, too, that'd be great!!!
