I am sorry I haven't posted a lot lately...it's been crazy around here with wedding dress shopping, planning for baby #2, and of course, the news I'm sure most of you have heard...Travis and Jenna are moving-to Hawaii! They will be leaving in 3 weeks to drive their car out to Seattle, which will then be put on a ship while they fly out. I think Mom, Dad, and I knew it was coming, but for our own selfish reasons, hoped that it wouldn't. Apparently, though, talent won out over selfishness in the end. Travis will be working as a designer for a company called Orange Roc on the island of Oahu. Jenna will be working for Old Navy and has already spoken with the Hawaii Dept. of Education about getting a teaching job. Orange Roc is putting the two of them up in a hotel for 2-3 weeks until they find a place to live. Travis has been looking online at high-rise apartments (studio, 1 or 2 BR-whatever is affordable), but hasn't found anything yet.
While I am excited for my baby brother (and his fiancee') at this incredible opportunity, I am also extremely heartbroken. Some would say that's my pregnancy hormones talking, but I think I would feel that way regardless. I just feel like everyone close to me is gone-Adam is in Minot, Lindsey is in Fargo, and more...and now Travis and Jenna are going to be gone to Hawaii. And it's not like we can afford to go and visit a whole lot, nor can they afford to come home a lot, either. Plus, there is a 5 hour time difference, so when they are getting up, we've already got a 1/2 day into work and when they are getting off of work, we are in bed. And all the things they'll miss-the holidays, the baby being born, all of Ethan's milestones, etc. But I am sounding like a big downer, so I will try to look at some positives-the opportunity, the climate, the adventure. And I know they will enjoy every minute of it because it's who they are...so if I forget to say it in my crying hysterics later on, good luck Travis and Jenna! Hawaii is lucky to have you! You both will do great! Love you both! Aloha!
