Easy...Breezy...Beautiful!

For those that know me well (and/or have known me for a long time), you know that I have had long hair pretty much my whole life. Well, at least since 2 years old (I was a bald baby...kinda like Collin). I've cut my hair short occasionally, but still long enough to pull back if I wanted to. Today I had my annual (sometimes semi-annual, depending on how fast my hair grows) hair appointment with my friend Anne. I had 2 of her children in Kindergarten and she is an amazing person and stylist who is one of the most outspoken, yet genuine people I know. Anyways, I got there with an idea of what I wanted, but was also wondering if my hair was long enough to donate to Locks of Love. I knew it was close, so I figured if there was enough, I would go all out and go short. If there wasn't enough there, I would do more of a trim and continue to grow it out for next time.

I got there and was telling Anne of my plans. She knew that it would be close, but took out her measuring tool. Lo and behold...it was JUST long enough! She asked me, "Do you wanna go for it?" I told her, "Sure...why not? I'm in a new grade. New grade, new look." She agreed, put it in two low pigtails, and cut. It was a bit surreal looking at my hair, snipped in a ponytail, but it was inspiring to know that it would be helping someone else (and I would really be starting the year fresh). Anne wanted to put some color in it, so she decided dark red with bright red highlights (ala Courteney Cox during Season 4 of "Friends" and in "Scream 2"). I had tried this look once before in high school, but my beautician at the time tried to put the dark red in and thought it was turning too purple so she put a rinse in it, turning all of my hair reddish with a purple-y hue. However, I trust Anne, so I took my glasses off and let her work her magic. I didn't look until the finished product, and I must say, while it WILL take some getting used to and IS the shortest I've had it since high school, I like it! I feel like I could be on a Cover Girl commercial (or in "Scream 5" as Courteney Cox's younger, curvier sister)...:)
