"You Don't Put Words in People's Mouths...

...you put TURKEY in people's mouths! " as Joey on "Friends" would say. My blog posts, once again, have been few and far between, due to conferences, our All-School sleepover, Mark's car being on the fritz (again), and one of our debit card numbers being stolen (with charges of $500 on there-again), among other things. I had planned on blogging today, but thought better of it when I read this article. As I'm sure you're aware, I LOVE the TV show "Friends." One of the things they did best was Thanksgiving. Every year, I would look forward to watching TV from 7-7:30 to see what hijinks they came up with. They were always good, but some were better than others. EW ranked their top 5 (out of 10). Do you agree? Here's their article, followed by my top 5 "Friends" Thanksgiving eps. Got a favorite? Vote on my poll, located in the sidebar, or add a list to my comments. Happy Needless Turkey Murder Day! :)

A very 'Friends'-y Thanksgiving: The 5 best episodes

"Ah, the Friends Thanksgiving episodes: They’re still some of the most reliably entertaining half-hour episodes the show ever produced.

Of the 10, 5 were good. And 5 were really, really good. These are those five great ones:

#5: “The One Where Ross Got High” (Season 6) Parental expectations and desserts that taste “like feet.” Talk about a match made in heaven.

#4: “The One with the List” (Season 2)
The early days of Ross and Rachel’s will-they-won’t-they hurt so good. Just…don’t make a pros-and-cons list.

#3: “The One with Chandler in a Box” (Season 4)
Thanksgiving episodes are all about people reaching breaking points, and this one had two of the best: Monica’s freakout (“married a lesbian, left a man at the altar, fell in love with a gay ice dancer, threw a girl’s wooden leg in a fire, live in a box!”) and Joey relenting and letting Chandler go after Kathy.

#2: “The One with All the Thanksgivings” (Season 5)
We thought we knew Monica and Chandler’s origin story. But it turns out their love went back further than London — at least, it did on Monica’s part. A severed toe and the classic turkey-on-the-head image in one episode? Bliss.

#1: “The One with the Rumor” (Season 8)
High-profile guest stars don’t always make for good episodes, but Brad Pitt’s turn as the former president of the I Hate Rachel Green Club was a stroke of sheer genius. Also: maternity pants."

Jessica's 5 Favorite Thanksgiving "Friends" Episodes

#5: "The One Where Chandler Doesn't Like Dogs" (Season 7)-I love the states game-"Nobody cares about the Dakotas." Plus, hearing Joey talk about a moot point...priceless. "It's like a cow's opinion...it doesn't matter. It's moo!"

#4: "The One with the Football" (Season 3)-Chandler actually winning a girl over Joey? Rachel catching a football? It was like some sort of alternate reality, but definitely a good one!

#3: "The One With All the Thanksgivings" (Season 5)-Phoebe, remembering past lives, and Monica, wearing a turkey on her head, dancing...need I say more?

#2: "The One with the Rumor" (Season 8)-This episode is bittersweet, considering Brad and Jen are no longer together, but it did give us some excellent banter. "Everyone at our school heard that?" "Everyone at MY school heard it...you were the hermaphrodite cheerleader from Long Island?" And the maternity pants were a stroke of genius!

#1: "The One Where Ross Got High" (Season 6)-This is the episode that finally turned Mark onto "Friends." Not to mention the great lines-"What's not to like? Custard? Good. Jam? Good. Meat? GOOD!!!"

So, what do you think? Agree with EW? Me? Or do you have another top 5 altogether? Please post! And Happy Thanksgiving!
